Fashion Design
Introduction
Fashion design is the specialized program approved in Guangdong Province. The silk trade and the costume technique were established based on the Mulberry Science Department in 1996. In 2000, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the four-year undergraduate program of fashion design and engineering was established and enrolled art students nationwide. In 2004 September, subdivisions of clothing engineering, textile design and accessories design were added.
After construction of more than ten years, based on Guangdong clothing industry pattern, this field develops original teaching model which is apt for textile and clothing industries development in Guangdong and South China, distinguishing itself with advantages in faculty team building, talent cultivation, research development, labs and workshops construction from other fashion design majors in Guangdong, even in China. The discipline construction is productive.
It undertook the second ancient Chinese costumes innovation design competition in 2009. Designers of the major designed uniforms for the Sixteenth Asian Games and the First Asian Para Games in 2010, awarded Best Design by Guangzhou Organizing Committee for Asian Games. Designers attended fashion show held in China-Italy convention trade and investment in Milan in 2012. Guangdong Clothing Innovation Design Engineering Research and Development Center was established in 2013 under the approval of Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province. Fashion design program consistently binds discipline construction with industry development and collaborates with enterprises and R&D centers, which contributes to social benefit and regional economy.
Experts of Bunka Fashion College were invented to visit College of Art in 2018.
